The goal
of the Learning Enhancement & Academic Program (LEAP) is
to provide comprehensive services for Michigan State University
(MSU) student-athletes. LEAP provides a wide range of learning services
including learning strategy interventions, Mentor programming, content-based
tutorials, assistive technology, and structured study experiences.
Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) is committed to providing
services that are in compliance with all NCAA, Big Ten, and MSU
guidelines for academic integrity and ethical behaviors.
LEAP also encompasses Learning Specialist services, which includes registering student-athletes with disabilities for academic accommodations through the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD), as well as assisting student-athletes with and without disabilities in developing successful academic learning strategies.
If you have received testing and have appropriate documentation of a disability, you are eligible (under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973) to receive reasonable academic accommodations (i.e., extended test time, quiet separate testing room, reader/scribe, etc.).
In addition, if you believe you may have a disability you may be eligible for testing to identify a learning disability or attention deficit disorder.
